Women Against Rape

Women Against Rape Inc.(W.A.R.) is a Non Governmental organisation established in 2008 to develop gender transformative mechanisms that would contribute favorably to sustainable development.

Our work is framed in the context of gender & health, using the definition of health as coined by the World Health organisation (WHO) ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’.

The social determinants of health are the conditions in which we are ‘born, grow, live and die’.

Accordingly, gender transformative policies and programs contribute to creating a greater sense of our gendered reality and contribute to eliminating violence against women and creating more equitable societies.

Mission:
Promoting inclusive Health Parity and Victim Justice through Advocacy, Education and direct services to women and families affected by Gender Based/Sexual Violence.

Vision:
We envisage a society that thrives on Social justice and Peace.
