Pan erasure can occur due to a lack of understanding, misconceptions, and/or the desire to enforce strict binaries (e.g., gay or straight). As a result of this, many pan-identifying folks may feel alienated both in heteronormative society and in queer spaces. But pan people are real, visible and here to stay.
