Dear Eswick…
The Silver Lining Foundation (SLF) joins the LGBTQIA+ community in mourning the loss of our community pillar, fierce advocate and cherished friend, Eswick Padmore. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. While we grieve this tremendous loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived and the immeasurable impact he left behind.
Eswick, fondly known as “Gaynor,” was a beacon of hope and strength for many. His dedication to championing the rights of the most vulnerable among us exemplified compassion for the LGBTQ+ community. He was a guiding light for us at SLF, demonstrating how love, determination, empathy, and purpose can drive meaningful change. Through his work with Friends For Life TT, he laid a foundation of resilience and empowerment for those in need, significantly shaping our advocacy today.
Eswick was a source of endless light, love, and laughter. His advocacy spanned years of dedicated service and commitment. A trusted ally, mentor, and friend, his legacy—like those of others before him—has left an indelible mark on us and many others. His memory will continue to be woven into the fabric of our work. As we honour your journey into ancestorship, know that we will carry the torch you lit for us with the same love, compassion, and gratitude you showed us.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate the person who fought with equal measures of intensity and humility. We commit to continuing the fight for equality for the most vulnerable in your name and honour, celebrating you at every opportunity and milestone.
Rest in peace and power, Gaynor. You will be missed, dear friend. You will always hold a special place in our hearts and be at the core of the work we do. Fly high with the angels. Until we meet again.
